M-215 Trig/gate to MIDI (8HP) – Discontinued

M-215 Trig/gate to MIDI (one octave or according to Jomox/Volca/General MIDI drum placement – one common MIDI channel)

Discontinued – followed by M-217

12 gate/trig inputs (one octave C-B) for triggering/playing notes on MIDI equipment.
(requested by my friend for triggering samples = playing notes on an MIDI HW sampler and MIDI drummachine)
Active gate = note_on at fixed velocity 120, gate ends = note_off, simply simple 🙂

Short button press = octave up transpose (common octave for all inputs)
Holding button = changes MIDI CH (1-16 gradually, common for all inputs)
Settings (octave and MIDI channel) are memorized.

New firmware (from 28/09/2015):

12 gate/trig inputs, three modes (halftone=one octave C-B, Jomox Airbase99 and Volca Beats, see table) for triggering/playing notes/sounds on MIDI equipment or triggering drums.
Active gate = note_on at fixed velocity 120, gate ends = note_off, simply simple 🙂

Mode (halftone -> Jomox -> Volca Beats -> halftone…) is changed by holding button at power-up. Shipped with halftone mode set.
To change from halftone to Volca it must be powered twice with button pressed (first power-on w. button pressed changes mode to Jomox, then must be switched off, second power-on w. button changes mode to Volca). Current mode is indicated by LED: halftone = 5 fast blinks, Jomox = 3 slower blinks, Volca Beats = 6 alternate blinks (long-short-long-short-long-short).

Default values (after each mode change):
halftone mode – notes 60 to 71, channel 1
Jomox mode – notes 36 to 52 (see table), channel 10
Volca mode – notes 36 to 75 (see table), channel 10

remap_table_jomox+volca

Sounds in yellow are added for compatibility, they are not used by Jomox or Volca Beats but can be used with another drum machines (almost compatible with General MIDI drum placement).

New firmware (from February 2017), TR-8 mode added:

Mode (halftone -> Jomox -> Volca Beats -> TR-8 > halftone…) is changed by holding button at power-up.

Short button press (under 1s) = octave up transpose (common for all inputs). Transpose is available in 7octaves in halftone mode and in three octaves in Jomox/Volca modes. Indicated by LED blinks.
Long press (holding button for 1-10s) = changes MIDI CH (1-16 gradually, common for all inputs). Indicated by LED blinks, shirt blink = 1, long blink = 5 (for example long+long+short = CH 11).
Holding button down over 10s disables setting button to avoid unwanted changes. Another holding over 10s enables setting button again.
All settings are memorized (mode, transpose, MIDI channel and button lock).

Width: 8TE/ 8HP/ 40mm.
Depth: 45mm /1,8″ max.
Current: 20mA max.
Power cable included.

Double check power connection before powering your system please.
„Red strip“ means -12V connector side in Eurorack standards.
In some power distribution systems connector key can be reverted.
In this case cut connector key and plug power connector right way (with respect to red strip) or use different power cable appropriate to your power system.
