S-185 Gatsby “dual gatemaker” module for Eurorack/Doepfer A100 system.

Original version (2 jumpers):
S-185 makes gates. Rising edge of input trig (or gate) starts generation of output gate, gate length is set by knob or by input CV (knob then works as attenuator for input CV). Inputs are normalled so two different gate lengths can be created from one input at time (using input1 as input for both channels). Minimum output time about 1ms (so it can be used as gate-to-trig converter too). Top jumper header set = max. gate time up to 1s, removed = up to 8s. Bottom jumper set = retrigger mode (if new input comes while output gate is active, counting gate length starts again with incomming input making long uninterrupted gate if input is faster than output gate length), bottom jumper removed = “keep gate length” mode (ignoring incomming inputs while timing of output gate, makes gates according to knob/CV setting).

Update (since 2020, 4 jumpers) – millisecond range added (allowing pinging filter).
There are four time range options selectable by two top jumpers, see picture above. Most top jumper selects “long” or “short” option within “seconds” or “milliseconds” range (selectable by second jumper).
Long seconds range is 1ms to 18s (mid pot position is around 4s), short seconds range is 1ms to 2s (mid pot position is around 500ms).
Long millisec range is 100us to 6ms (mid pot position is around 3ms), short millisec range is 400us to 2ms (mid pot position is around 1,2ms).

Retrig mode is set by two bottom jumpers independently for ch1 and ch2 (according to retrig mode description above).

If you already have S-185 with two jumpers, it can be upgraded quite simply by soldering jumpers on board and changing IC in its socket. I can send you required jumpers and IC with an order for free.

„Red strip“ means -12V connector side in Eurorack standards.
In some power distribution systems connector key can be reverted.
In this case cut connector key and plug power connector right way (with respect to red strip) or use different power cable appropriate to your power system
