U-041 Median module (middle value selector) for eurorack / Doepfer A100 system. It works for CVs and/or audio too.

Module output follows middle voltage selected from three input voltages. It is not mean voltage or an summed voltage, module is passing through middle voltage from three input voltages. All three voltages can be external or one or two of them can be set manually using knobs. Ch1 & ch2 knobs are normalled to inputs 1&2, input 3 is normalled to ground (0V). It can work as manual fixed CV source, as voltage limiter or as middle voltage selector.
As fixed CV source: when no input is connected then one knob sets “limit”, second knob can change output voltage in range between ground (0V) and “limit” (this voltage is middle voltage between ground and limit so output follows knob setting). Both knobs should be set positive or both negative (if one is positive and second negative then middle voltage is 0V because ch3 is normalled to gnd).
As voltage limiter: if input3 is used for an external signal this signal is passed to output as long as it is between knob setting. It allows positive or negative limitting (audio or CV). If input1 (or 2) is used as input for external signal then knob2 (or 1) sets positive or negative limit, ch3 (normalled to gnd) limits output signal to gnd. So output is then in range between 0V (limit set by ch3 normalled to gnd) and knob setting, input can be rectified (limited to positive or negative halfwaves) or rectified with an limitation. E.g. an slowly changing CV can be used for variable audio signal limitation/kind of variable distortion…
As middle value selector: output follows middle voltage value selected from three input values (CV and/or audio signals).

„Red strip“ means -12V connector side in Eurorack standards.
In some power distribution systems connector key can be reverted.
In this case cut connector key and plug power connector right way (with respect to red strip) or use different power cable appropriate to your power system.
